Her Story

 

Ms. April Louise Chambers

February 9, 1977 - October 6, 2021.

Ms. April Louise Chambers was a devoted mother and avid volunteer within the community. Born February 9, 1977, in Flint, MI, daughter of John E. Chambers Sr. and Wanda L. Chambers. April passed away October 6, 2021 ending her 18 year fight with Lupus. April had been in the hospital under care all of September dealing with Covid-19 and other complications.

April moved to Dallas, TX in 2001 where she worked various jobs within the DFW area before and after her Lupus diagnosis in 2003. She volunteered at Whitney M. Young Elementary School for 12 years where her kind spirit was infectious throughout the community. Before her most recent ailment, she worked as a school crossing guard in the Dallas area. Parents and business owners felt safe knowing April was there to protect their children each day. April positively impacted everyone she encountered. She was sure to make you smile regardless of the circumstances. April enjoyed cooking, dancing, and spending time with her family. She absolutely loved children and helping anyone in need including people she barely knew.

Ms. April Louise Chambers leaves to cherish in her memory, son Johnny Jones Jr. of Dallas, TX; mother Wanda Chambers of Flint, MI; father John E. Chambers Sr. of Little Rock, AR.; 2 sisters Rachel Chambers of Flint, MI and Tonyna Smith of Dallas, TX; 4 brothers John E. Chambers Jr. (Shanna) and Marcus D. Chambers of Flint, MI; Rodney Chambers and Jermaine Chambers of Little Rock, AR.; child’s father Johnny Jones Sr. of Dallas, TX; 19 nieces, 15 great-nieces, 17 nephews, 7 great-nephews, 7 aunts, 5 uncles and a host of other relatives and friend including special friends JoAnn Reed and Alice Curry of Dallas, TX.

Ms. April Chambers was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mrs. Hazel Sapp, Warren Phillips, Eliza Garner, John L. Chambers; brother Orlando Anderson; step-mother Era Jean Chambers; nephew Marcus D. Chambers Jr.; uncles Ricky Sapp and Ronley Chambers; aunts Betty, Rosa, Diana; cousin- Jyquon Chambers.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Baylor Hospital ICU, Golden Gate Funeral Home, Cornerstone Baptist Churn and all the family & friends who showed their support in our time of grief.
